Pam is a journeyman landscape gardener and was involved in the development of the landscape gardener apprentice program for Alberta.
Pam’s University experience focused on theatre arts – Now, she can develop a set (your landscape) that creates any mood you can imagine. With 20 years experience creating sustainable landscapes for urban and rural yards in the Calgary area, Pam is a trailblazer when it comes to using environmental horticulture as a landscape philosophy.
Now, Pam’s main focus is co-owning and co-operating Bow Point Nursery. Listen for her message when you call – she’ll be out showing plants.
Ken started his nursery career in Helena Montana at the Valley Nursery after completing a BSc in Botany at Montana State. He and his family moved to the Calgary area in 1981 to start a nursery near Cochrane, moving to their current site in 1988…transforming a bare hayfield into Bow Point Nursery.
As the years passed, Ken directed the nursery’s attention to the native woody plants of Southern Alberta. The native plants grew, thrived and out-performed most introduced plants. Since then, Ken has been exploring the unique ecosystems of southern Alberta, developing new ecovars and cultivars for growing stunning landscapes around Calgary, Cochrane and the foothills.
Ken’s ultimate goal is to spend more time teaching, and less time hoeing…helping you create a self sustaining native landscape that can be enjoyed for years to come.
